Kickin' it in SA: The Magik Theatre and Hemisfair Park

One of the best children's activities offered in San Antonio is The Magik Theatre.  The Magik Theatre is a theatre that aims to offer an educational experience and a love for the arts and literature through its productions.  It's a really fun venue, the plays are always well-done, and most of them are based on children's novels.  Plus, the shows are never more than an hour, making it just the right length for little ones!  Since living in San Antonio, we have seen The Velveteen Rabbit, Treasure Island, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and most recently, Skippyjon Jones.  They've all been so different, but so good!

Another bonus to going to The Magik Theatre is that it's right next to the Hemisfair Park playground. This playground is so awesome--it's kind of like a huge wooden fortress.  (The only negative is that it's not always easy to see your kids--so if you have little toddlers, get ready to follow them around!)  Our kids LOVE this playground.  Its design is really cool and they love running through and exploring the maze-like structure.
