Last weekend, we did one of the most fun and craziest things that we've done since being here: canyoning!!! We went with the outdoor recreation group on base (using the company Canyons), and the timing couldn't have been more perfect, because Andrew got into town the day before, and if anyone would love to go canyoning down beautiful Japanese mountain rivers, it's Andrew! So, we left our kids with our trusty babysitter, and loaded a bus at 6:00am and set out for one of the best days ever!
We started out just floating down the river, but quickly enough, things got crazy!!! Here we are about to slide down a 60 ft. waterfall!
We spent the rest of the time floating, sliding down waterfalls going feet first, head first, forwards, and backwards, and jumping off cliffs. I can't even say enough how awesome it was!
